8. The long standing taxi-strike, to which reference has been made in the last four or five of these Fortnightly Reports, still continues despite most pertinacious efforts by the Labour Office to bring the employers and strikers together. The gap between the two parties has been considerably narrowed, but no side has been willing to make a real concession towards a satisfactory compromise. The temper of the striking drivers shows signs of bitterness and the possibility of a sympathetic strike spreading to to other workers cannot be excluded.
